Important Environment Agency Notice: update to timings of programme
In consultation with Sutton Harbour Company, we have been able to bring forward the 4 day closure of the lock. Originally programmed in for 18 – 21 March, this will now take place Sunday 3 – Wednesday 6 March. This avoids the Thursday Fish Market, as well as the Easter school holidays.
Our contractors, Kier, have implemented lessons learned during Phase 1 of the project, allowing a reduction in time for some activities. They have also allocated additional resource to the project, enabling this decision.
The pedestrian walkway will need to be closed for a few hours on 7 March to enable further works. We will ensure we avoid peak footfall times.
The 2 day grouting activity will also be brought forward by 2 weeks, to Monday 25 – Tuesday 26 March, when the lock will also be closed.
